Accessorized!

New York Fashion Week is wrapping up and like every year the week was full of eclectic style on and off the runway.  A fashion forward crowd hit the sidewalks in bold statement pieces to get noticed. Here are a few women whose accessories are worthy of applause:

How Did They Pull That Off?

There are certain styles I doubt I’ll ever wear outside, but a lot of people work unconventional looks with pride. Here are some ladies with looks that somehow are so wrong they’re right!

The Problem:

Leather Shorts

model with leather shorts and black tightsWhy it works:

The shorts blend seamlessly with the black tights, the shirt is a pretty contrast to the black and the bag ties the two items together.

The Problem:

Too Slouchy School Girl Look

black girl modeling with glassesWhy it works:

The tights are great and their striped pattern echos the skirt’s plaid. The shoes prove that brown and black can be paired together and the cut-out on the back of her sweater gives it character.

The Problem:

Inappropriate Placed Decals on top of Super Short Mini Skirt

girl with pasties t-shirtWhy it works:

This outfit looks both edgy and sweet because in spite of the very short skirt she’s fairly covered. The pasties on the shirt are in the shape of hearts that make the top look fairly  innocent.

The Problem:

Too Many Statement Pieces

I would consider wearing this outfit if one or two of the items were left out. There’s a lot going on but all of the pieces are beautiful. The hat is luxurious, the tights are adorable, the gold brocade shirt is divine and the red chunky sweater looks cozy. In the words of  Charlie Sheen “winning,” lol.
