Sleeper hit and silent film ‘The Artist’ was the big winner last night, winning 5 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor. But like millions of other viewers I was most excited to see what the stars were wearing on Oscars night. My favorites this year were:
Angelina Jolie in Versace
Natalie Portman in Haute Couture Christian Dior
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
Rooney Mara in Givenchy
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
Rihanna was best dressed at this year’s Grammy Awards wearing a simple black dress with a long side slit, platinum blonde hair and gold accessories. Recently at a party for Stella McCartney’s new collection during London Fashion Week she repeated the formula to a winning look with a similar emerald green dress.
New York Fashion Week is wrapping up and like every year the week was full of eclectic style on and off the runway. A fashion forward crowd hit the sidewalks in bold statement pieces to get noticed. Here are a few women whose accessories are worthy of applause:
This shoe = perfection!
Her bag reminds me of a Rubik’s Cube!
This matching combination is beyond cute.
I love how the dog blends into her coat.
… dress up your phone too!

Dresses aren’t only for elementary school pictures, proms and weddings anymore. The frock has seen somewhat of a revival in the last few years and more women wear dresses almost as a uniform. Dresses are a yearlong staple because they are simple! No need to match the perfect blouse to pants…with one piece your dressed in a snap.
And you don’t need to wear a sweater dress if it’s fall or winter. If spring is gone but you still want to wear your floral chiffon dress, wear a thick pair of tights and layer with a warm sweater. A few designers at this year’s fashion week also got the memo:
